Tips for Packing for Great Wolf Lodge

1. Pack according to your plans.

Some families like to plan their trip by the hour, and others prefer to wing it — either way, having a general idea of what you’ll do at the lodge will make packing SO much easier.

Before you pack, think through things like:

  • Will your kids want to do MagiQuest?

  • Are you planning to hit the waterpark once or multiple times?

  • Do you want downtime in the room for snacks, movies, or naps?

  • Are you planning to eat meals in the lodge, nearby, or in your room?

Shorter stays (1–2 nights) usually mean you won’t have time for every activity, while longer stays make it easier to fit everything in — so pack based on your length of stay and your family’s preferences.

2. Pack for comfort over fashion.

Great Wolf Lodge is casual, cozy, and kid-friendly. Pajamas, sweats, and comfy outfits are totally normal lodge attire—especially during story times or late-night activities. That said, you may want to pack one slightly dressier outfit for everyone if you’re planning a family dinner or visiting during a holiday like Thanksgiving.

3. Bring backups for anything that stays wet.

If you plan to visit the waterpark more than once, pack extra swimsuits, extra cover-ups, and a wet bag. Nothing is worse than squeezing into a cold, damp swimsuit!

4. Pack smart for the room.

Most families underestimate how much time they will actually spend relaxing in the room. Snacks, a few activities, and even a movie-night setup can make your stay feel extra special.

5. Use a pool bag to make your life easier.

A lightweight tote or waterproof bag keeps swimsuits, goggles, and wipes organized so you don’t have to run back and forth.

6. Check the weather if your lodge has outdoor attractions.

Many locations have outdoor waterpark areas and ropes courses that depend on weather. Pack accordingly — sunscreen, hats, closed-toe shoes, etc.
