The War Is Here: 5 Ways Christian Moms Fight for Truth
We are in an all out war. Whether we want to face it or hide from it, the truth remains: we are at war. While it may take the face of politics, this battle is far greater than left versus right, Republican versus Democrat. At its core, this is a spiritual war: good versus evil, light versus darkness, God and His people versus satan and his demons. Though both political parties have clearly chosen their sides, the battle extends far beyond them.
The sound of the gunshot that martyred Charlie Kirk was a wake-up call — a final call to arms.
Out of the ashes of this tragedy, the army of God is rising. The call is clear. Some have already been in the battle, but for those still on the sidelines, the time is now. We must don our armor, grasp our weapons, and step boldly into the fight.
What We Need to Know About This War
1. This Is a Spiritual War
While we are in this war it is important for us to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood. We do not repay evil with evil. We do not fight against people; we fight for people.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)
We fight against the true enemy — the enemy who is after souls.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)
It is our responsibility to fight the enemy by going after souls for Jesus—giving people the chance to receive Christ and come into the Truth. At the same time, we battle to drive out the evil and darkness that has overtaken our country and our world.
Charlie Kirk recognized that our fight for freedom is ultimately about preserving the ability to proclaim the Gospel without hindrance. That is why the fight for liberty in this great nation is so urgent: we must stand in our God-given authority and cast out the darkness that seeks to bind us.

2. It is the Light That Overcomes the Darkness
How is darkness cast out? The only thing that can overcome darkness is light. When the light shines, the darkness recedes — instantly. Just walk into a dark room and flip the light switch on; the darkness immediately disappears.
“And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” – John 1:5 (NKJV)
Note: The word comprehend in this verse is the Greek word katalambano, which means to seize, take hold of, grasp, overtake, reach, apprehend, overcome, or get the better of. The light cannot be fully grasped, controlled, or defeated by darkness. Shining light into darkness is the sure way to overcome it.
So, mamas, where does the light live? It lives in us, who believe and have been born again. We have been filled with the light.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14–16 (NKJV)
Christ is the Light who cannot be overcome, and we are carriers of that Light — called to shine boldly and visibly, casting out the darkness within this world. It’s time for us to shine the Light in every dark place — starting in our homes, moving into our communities, and reaching out into the world.
3. There Are Only Two Sides to This War
There can be no more lukewarm Christianity. You are either standing with God or standing against Him. Neutrality is an illusion, and the middle ground no longer exists. The line has been drawn, and every person must decide where they stand.
“He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.” – Matthew 12:30 (NKJV)
The time for hesitation is over. You are either intentionally on the side of good, or you are on the side of evil. We are in the middle of a third great awakening, and a separation is happening.
“His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” – Matthew 3:12 (NKJV)
“Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn, but gather the wheat into my barn.”” – Matthew 13:30 (NKJV)
He answered and said unto them, “He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of the world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” – Matthew 13:37-43 (NKJV)
This is intense, but it is the truth and it is time to decide if you will be the wheat — a child of light, or if you will be a tare — a child of darkness.
Equipped for Battle: How Christian Moms Fight for Truth
1. Stay Connected to Jesus
Our relationship with Jesus is by far the most important thing. We must know Him—and allow Him to know us. As mamas, it can feel nearly impossible to carve out quiet moments, but this is the first part of the fight we must be relentless in. This is where our strength, clarity, and courage are found.
Decide on a time of day that you can set aside to get in your prayer closet with Jesus. Enter into that secret place and listen to Him, talk with Him, be with Him, and receive His deep love for you. This is also the place where we gain direction and inspiration for what we are to do next.
Mama tip: Rise early, before your family is awake, before the commotion of the day, to be with Jesus.
Yes, we need to walk with Him throughout our entire day, but we must not neglect the alone time. Even Jesus often slipped away to be alone with the Father (Luke 5:16; Mark 1:35). If He needed it, how much more do we? Get away with Jesus, mama. This is the first step in being prepared for battle.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5 (NKJV)

2. Do Not Fear, Only Be Strong and Courageous
I understand the temptation to fear all too well. These are frightening days. When a good man, husband, and father is brutally murdered for simply speaking the truth, it shakes us to the core. It didn’t happen in some distant land; it happened right here, in our own backyard. But this is not the time for us to shrink back in fear. This is the time for us to rise up in the power and authority given to us by our King Jesus!
As we stay connected to Him, we receive His perfect love — and that love drives out fear. Mamas, this isn’t about mustering up strength on our own. It’s about positioning ourselves in the perfect love of our Father and letting His love cover, protect, and embolden us.
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” – 1 John 4:18 (NKJV)
God’s love is so complete that fear cannot remain in its presence. If fear creeps in, it’s a sign that we need to draw closer, filling ourselves with His Word and reconnecting to His heart. From that place of love, God gives us a command — not a suggestion — a command, to be strong and courageous.
This command is repeated multiple times in the first chapter of Joshua. Mamas, I want you to notice something though, before repeating this command, God promises He will be with us. He’s not commanding us to be strong and courageous and then sending us off on our own.
“…I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” – Joshua 1:5 (NKJV)
Then He goes on to command:
“Be strong and of good courage…” – Joshua 1:6 (NKJV)
“Only be strong and very courageous…” – Joshua 1:7 (NKJV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage…” – Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
Do you see it, mama? Courage isn’t born from us—it’s born from Him. Because He is with us, we can rise up as strong and courageous women of God, fighting for truth in love and without fear.
3. Suit Up
Every soldier knows you don’t step into battle without armor. In the same way, we must be intentional every single day to put on the full armor of God. Without it, we leave ourselves vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks—but with it, we stand firm and unshakable in Christ. In the chaos of kids, homemaking, and headlines, armor is not optional—it’s protection and power.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” – Ephesians 6:10–18 (NKJV)

But armor is only part of the picture. A warrior also needs weapons. Mamas, as we step into this spiritual battle, we must remember that our weapons are not carnal. We are not fighting with human strength, strategies, or agendas.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:3–5 (NKJV)
Our spiritual weapons—the Word of God, prayer, faith, righteousness, truth, and the power of the Holy Spirit—are mighty to tear down the enemy’s strongholds in our homes, communities, and hearts. When we suit up with the full armor of God and wield these weapons in faith, we’re not just protecting ourselves—we’re actively casting down darkness, lies, and deception wherever they try to rise up.
Mamas, this is how we fight effectively: not with fear, anger, or human effort, but with the divine power and authority given to us by Christ. And the beautiful truth? You don’t have to be on a platform, holding a microphone, or leading a movement to make an impact. Every prayer whispered over your children, every Scripture declared in your home, every stand you take for truth in the small, ordinary moments is a mighty act of war in the Kingdom of God.
4. Start with Our Homes
Now that we’ve established the foundation that prepares us for battle, let’s talk about the first—and most important—place where we, as mamas, are called to fight: our homes.
The foundation of a healthy society begins in the home. One of the enemy’s most devastating strategies has been to attack God’s design for families—tearing down marriages, redefining roles, and distracting parents from their call to raise up the next generation in truth. But God has given us authority to stand guard and take back ground, starting right where we live.
As wives and mothers, we set the tone within our homes.
“The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” – Proverbs 14:1, NKJV
This verse is a sobering reminder of the power we carry—we can either strengthen our home through wisdom and godliness or weaken it by neglect or compromise. We shape atmospheres, cultivate peace, and establish what will be welcomed or rejected at our doorposts. This isn’t a small role—it’s a crucial one. Our home is our battle post. While God may call us to serve in other places, we must never neglect this sacred assignment.

Here are some practical ways we can fight faithfully from our post:
- Pray over your home. Walk through your house and boldly declare the Word of God over each room. Speak life and truth into your family’s atmosphere. This may feel unusual at first, but it is powerful spiritual warfare. And don’t be afraid to bring your children into it—what better way to teach them how to battle darkness than by showing them what it looks like in action?
- Guard what comes through the door. Every home has gates—our eyes, our ears, and even the screens we allow inside. Be intentional about what you permit to enter. Shut the door to ungodly entertainment, lies, and words that tear down. Protect your home as you would a fortress.
- Pray for your husband. See him as the king God has called him to be—a warrior, leader, and builder in God’s Kingdom. Encourage him, stand beside him, and fight for him in prayer. Reject the lies of culture that seek to weaken or emasculate men. It is an honor and a privilege to be a helpmate, and stepping into that role strengthens not only your marriage but also the Kingdom of God.

- Disciple your children. Don’t pass off the responsibility of teaching your kids about Jesus to someone else. You don’t have to know it all—just share what you know and invite them into your journey of growing with the Lord. They need to hear truth from your lips and see faith lived out in your life.

Your home is not just where you live—it’s your front line in the Kingdom. Guard it. Cultivate it. Use it as a stronghold of light in a world growing darker.

5. Always Be Ready to Speak Truth
As followers of Jesus, we are called not only to live out our faith within our homes, but also to be ready to speak truth boldly with every opportunity that arises. This world is desperate for truth, and God has entrusted that truth to us. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not something we should ever be ashamed of or shrink back from sharing. There will be moments when the pressure is real—when speaking up could mean losing friends, being misunderstood, being mocked, or even being subject to violence. But remember, mamas, silence is not neutrality. Remaining silent puts us on the side of the enemy, and we know that is not where we belong. We must be ready to stand firm and open our mouths with boldness, no matter the cost.
Scripture reminds us of this charge:
“But sanctify the Lord God in your heart, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” – 1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV)
“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” – 2 Timothy 4:2 (NKJV)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…” – Romans 1:16 (NKJV)
Practical ways to live this out:
- Do it scared. While God calls us to be fearless, the reality is we may still feel fear rising up when the moment comes to speak truth. The key is not letting that fear stop us. Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s choosing obedience and truth in spite of it. Resolve in your heart that even if your voice trembles, you will not stay silent. Fear must never overcome us; instead, let God’s Spirit within you strengthen you to speak boldly, even when you’re scared.
👉🏼 These two points go hand in hand—while God calls us to walk in fearless confidence, He also meets us in our human weakness. When fear rises, we don’t bow to it; we press forward anyway, asking God to fill us with boldness as we go.
- Pray for boldness daily. Just as the early church did in Acts 4, ask God to fill you with courage to speak His Word without fear. And remember, while it may take time and practice, the more you do it, the more you will find yourself speaking boldly and fearlessly.
- Speak naturally about Jesus in everyday conversations. Share what He is doing in your life with your kids, your spouse, and in small talk with neighbors, friends, and anyone you have an opportunity to speak with.
- Don’t retreat when challenged. If someone pushes back, don’t shrink down. Stay calm, stay rooted in Scripture, and let the Holy Spirit guide your words.
Mamas, remember this: when you open your mouth to speak the truth of Jesus, you are not standing alone. The Spirit of the Living God is with you, and He promises to give you the words in the very moment you need them (Luke 12:12).
